Aaron Jackson was named the volunteer assistant coach for the Cyclones in August 2021. He is entering his fourth year with the program in 2025.
2024
In 2024, Jackson arguably coaches the team's best two players in Angelina Allen and Milaysia Ochoa. Allen earned Second Team All-American, NFCA First Team All-Midwest Region and Second Team All-Big 12 honors during the year. Allen, along with Ochoa, were both team captains and batted in the top two spots in every game.
2023
Coach Jackson oversees the outfielders and their positioning in the field of play. During 2023, Jackson helped play a role in Milaysia Ochoa being named to a Second Team All-Big 12 honor. Jackson also helped Angelina Allen transition from an infielder to an outfielder during the year. Jackson spent the first half of 2023 as the first base coach before swapping to a role in the dugout when the Cyclones were at the plate.
Prior to Iowa State
Jackson comes to Iowa State after serving as the head coach at Carroll College in Montana for seven seasons. Jackson started the Carroll program at the same time that Pinkerton started the program at Montana.
Carroll won the Cascade East Division title in 2016, which was the first of three appearances in the Cascade Conference Tournament under Jackson. In addition to his head coaching duties, Jackson also served as a member of the NAIA Softball Executive Committee and the NAIA All-American Selection Committee.
Prior to his time at Carroll, Jackson was the head coach at Eastern Oregon for three seasons (2011-13). In his three seasons at Eastern Oregon, Jackson led the Mountaineers to seven wins over top 25 teams and had five players earn all-conference honors.
